Nestled in a serene surrounding of paddy fields and bordering the buffer zone of Wilpattu National Park, Claughton Wild is a nature
lover’s dream location. Being very close to the main park entrance, means that you do not waste time commuting to and from game
drives. Relaxing at the property, in one of the 5 well-appointed villas or the pool, also guarantees you remain immersed in the heart of
its natural surroundings.
Whether you are travelling as a couple, a group of fellow wildlife enthusiasts or even as a large extended family, Claughton Wild has
something to offer every discerning type of guest who seeks the ultimate nature experience – be it gazing up star-struck at a glorious
night sky, being lulled to sleep by a symphony of crickets with the occasional soloist in the shape of a nocturnal elephant or waking up
to the dawn chorus of the resident bird alarm. Nature at its best, hardly ever failing to deliver.
The food served at Claughton Wild is simple, fresh and tasty and sourced mainly from the local produce. Though hunger is always the
best sauce, Russel prides himself on serving a mean BBQ sauce which he insists comes from an old secret family recipe. If you’re
lucky, he may consent to whisper the secret ingredient.
