One of the most recent rumours of 2020 would be the opening of another TGIF place in Colombo! Ever since we stepped out of our houses, there was constant word-of-mouth going on about how the ‘Friday Night’ scene has upgraded to the next level. Yes, that’s right! We’ve found your ideal spot to relax n’ chill! Introducing to you, Bro Pub & Restaurant!
Located way inside Pagoda Road, Bro Pub pampers their regulars with a rather scenic and peaceful sight of the Nawala Wetland Park which can be viewed from their windows as far as the eye can see! The diner is a business venture of Garton’s Group (who also manages the sailing restaurant- Garton’s Ark) and was opened on the 14th of February 2020.
Had a rather chaotic week at work and you want a massive breather from real life for a second? Then this option better be on top of your “go-to” list for sure!
We were warmly welcomed on a Friday Night to experience the tranquil escapade of Garton Holidays’ newest addition and it was well-delivered with a pleasant blend of food, drinks, and live music; ‘Ace of Pentacles’- an acoustic female duo- did an excellent job in bringing out the “night vibe” with some mellow tunes by playing our all-time favourite Sinhala & English songs all throughout the night!
Starting off with some killer Cocktails, we first opted for a Vodka-based “Kamikaze” and my, we can’t fail to mention how well-balanced it was! Not only did we savor the necessary liquor portion but we were also able to markedly come across the fruity flavour of Lime juice that was mixed right in! Next, we tried a “Cuba Libre” off their ‘Rum-based’ list and it was incredible! With a fraction of Coca-Cola mixed into it, Bro Pub offered us a wicked glass of infusion before preparing us for the mains!
Towards the latter part of the night, we received a sizzling Grilled Meat Platter loaded with juicy pork ribs, chicken sausages, grilled vegetables, giant & crunchy prawns, perfectly grilled chicken legs, and a rather large cuttlefish share with some side gravy dishes. This plate can be distributed among two people and is the perfect combination to go with some bites and drinks on the side! It’s priced at Rs.3500/- and with the variety of items available, we think it’s totally worth it!
When exploring the ambience of this eatery¸ it gave out a very subdued atmosphere and is highly recommended to be an exemplary place to witness the sunset when the evening draws in. The staff at Bro Pub also adds tone to their centralized theme by wearing floral print shirts while serving customers and walking here and about.
Their price range is between Rs.1500 to Rs.2500 and all the meals and drinks they have to endeavor are all worth trying and enjoying when considering their price list!
Also, ladies, they haven’t forgotten you! Bro Pub introduced ‘Ladies Night’ just recently which takes place on Mondays to Thursdays from 6 pm till 7 pm respectively; they give out cocktails at 50% off so make sure to drop by if you’re after a hefty day at work or just want to loosen up.
All in all, we had a fabulous time and enjoyed every bit of the night! Thank you Bro Pub, for organizing a very alluring Friday evening and we would unquestionably come by pretty soon!!
