Lipton Ceylonta relaunch

Sri Lanka’s best-loved brew, Lipton Ceylonta, was re-launched recently with improved taste and quality for that perfect cup of tea. Unilever, the company behind Lipton Ceylonta, held an engaging tea tasting session for special invitees which proved to be truly sensorial experience as Global Tea Specialist with Lipton Ceylonta, Thilanka Dassanayake, delved into describing the new and enhanced Lipton Ceylonta tea, a largely a blend of Dimbula tea with some Uva tea, which is handpicked from the Dambetenne estate which holds a rich heritage for the Lipton brand. Sir Thomas believed that, in an age when tea was a rare and expensive luxury, anyone, of any class, should be able to enjoy tea at its best. The first to package tea and brand it, Lipton’s Yellow Label tea was born, bearing the slogan, ‘Straight from the tea gardens to the tea pot’. Lipton, armed with a 129-year-old legacy, has been instrumental in bringing the wholesome goodness of a freshly brewed cup of tea straight from the tea plantations to the doorstep of consumers from all walks of life. One of Unilever’s flagship brands since the 1930s, it has retained and nurtured the rich legacy and history of Ceylon tea. Lipton Ceylonta is a brand popular with households in Sri Lanka as the brand that introduced the goodness of tea and its specialties to the Sri Lankan consumer. Its quality assured blend contains neat, clear and smaller tea leaves and is the reason the brand holds BOPF (Broken Orange Pekoe Fannings) grade conformance.
