The Bocuse d’Or Culinary competition is the most reputed live cooking competition in the World which is held every two years in Lyon, France. Several countries take part in this rigorous competition competing for the Gold, Silver and Bronze by a team of two chefs representing their country: a Chef and Commis demonstrates and displays their highly defined culinary skills which takes years to master.
The William Angliss Institute @ SLIIT was honoured to be the venue partner for the National Selection 2023 to select the Best Chef and Commis in Sri Lanka. The Competition saw 28 Hotels with 56 participants from around the country compete at this prestigious event.
On the same day the awards ceremony was held at Waters Edge, Battaramulla with a 5 course Gala Dinner, where His Excellency the President Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe was the Chief Guest. The winning team – from the Movenpick Hotel Colombo will represent Sri Lanka at the Asia Pacific Competition which is scheduled to be held in 2024.
