Selyn Handlooms and Isle of Rataa have joined forces to protect and preserve the rich culture of Sri Lanka’s crafts. Rataa at Selyn launched at the Selyn flagship store at Fife Road.
Isle of Rataa was founded in 2020 by friends Heshani Bogollagma and Nilusha Shivaraj with a clear mission in mind - to work with local artisans to sustain and grow Sri Lanka’s handicrafts industry. Selyna Peiris, Director Business Development at Selyn says, “For the last 30 years, Selyn has been dedicated to protect Sri Lanka’s handloom sector with a clear commitment to fair trading principles.” Heshani Bogollagama, co-founder of Isle of Rataa, says, “We are extremely happy to be partnering with Selyn, the only fair trade handloom company in Sri Lanka, with a long standing history, to bring more marketing opportunities to our artisans and showcase their talents to the modern world”.
