You're probably wondering where I'm going with all this; well, brace yourself for an astounding surprise as we present to you Rare at Residence by Uga Escapes, the transcending ultimatum!
This luxurious eatery is founded by the Vice President of the Finco Group and Managing Director of Uga Escapes’, Ranjinda Priyanjith Weerasooria. Priyanjith began working on this concept in 2014, and he and his team have since provided excellent service to a large number of diners.
We at Hi!! Online received the greatest glory of entering the fancy diner along with the opportunity to savour six of their best signature dishes off the Breakfast Menu. What was even more fascinating was how simple English breakfast dishes were beautifully portrayed on their plates by fusing it with Sri Lankan culture. We even discovered a healthy aspect to the food while continuing to satisfy our taste buds indefinitely throughout this experience. Their excellent culinary staff prepared these specials, and served us with utmost courtesy and kindness!
Here’s what we had:
Firmly cooked with whole-grain rice and oozed in fresh coconut milk, this bowl sure was appetizing! There's an old adage that breakfast should be eaten like a king, and Rare at Residence's milk rice certainly fits the purpose!
Nicely-shaped circles of mini roti served with four Lankan curries? Who could want a better breakfast than this?! Although these are the traditional tangs we have on a daily basis, I was very impressed with how fresh and well the spices have been matched to create a flavourful taste; totally upped the "Roti" game in Sri Lanka!
This special dish was delicious, with the bacon crispy and cooked to perfection. The eggs and cheese also added a nice flavour boost, tempting us to finish the entire plate. Overall, it was a very tasty and filling meal!
Adorned with scrambled eggs & feta cheese, this brilliant entrée was served on sourdough toast along with pieces of avocado & grilled tomato. It was also topped with a sweet balsamic drizzle and truffle oil, which added just the right amount of taste and aroma to the presentation.
With toast, butter, hash browns, fried sausages, baked beans, mushrooms, and grilled tomato, this was the perfect English breakfast. The entire display was so enticing and appealing that it made your mouth water and stomach rumble extensively (Believe me, mine was :P)

The smores topping was a little too sweet for me as someone who doesn't consume a lot of sugar. The hot chocolate component, on the other hand, was just right for my taste buds, as it balanced out the extra sweetness I had noticed earlier.
This was chosen from their Healthy Juice line, and it received a perfect ten out of ten! With no artificial flavors and no added sugar, this beverage would be a great thirst quencher on a hot summer day! Highly recommended for anyone looking for organic alternatives.
Who doesn't enjoy Oreos, especially when crushed and blended into a milkshake? The sugar levels were flawless, and the more you sipped from the straw, the more you craved. It was an enriching experience!
In addition to the incredible food, I must also mention how lovely the atmosphere at Rare is!
